My design takes the feeling of travel and home and uses influences from Swiss travel maps to show the landscape of the story - the homes and the perilous prison. It is a book cover designed for those who already know the story yet its colourful and playful textures illustrations attract the more youthful market. Using my own watercolour textures and illustrations, this design has a tactile feel even through normal printing methods.
My Submission this year for the Penguin design awards was a re-imagining of the classic tale by Kenneth Grahame - The Wind in the Willows.
